Uist Book Festival/As an Tobar Book Launch with Live Music

November 23 | 14:30 - 16:00

Lochmaddy Adults Panel Event / Author Reading History, Music

Helene Witcher will be introducing her latest book, Madam Scotia Madam Scrap, about her aunt, the Scottish pioneering musician and clarsach player Heloise Russell-Fergusson (1896-1970). Heloise combined a fearless determination with mischief, an eccentric creativity with surprising practicality. Her story sits proudly alongside those of many extraordinary Scottish women who are only now being recognised. There will be recordings of Heloise playing and live music from Anna MacIain.

Free (unticketed)
