The Rebel Anatomist

November 19 | 18:30 - 20:30

Glasgow Adults Exhibition, Panel Event / Author Reading Health & Wellbeing, History, Illustration / Art

Join us for a special evening celebrating Andreas Vesalius and his groundbreaking book De Humani Corporis Fabrica. Vesalius broke tradition with the centuries-old theories on anatomy and was one of the first to use human dissection to illustrate the human body. His beautifully illustrated book changed the world's approach to anatomy. We'll have a special exhibition of anatomy books, including our first edition of De Humani Corporis Fabrica (1543) and we'll be joined by Dániel Margócsy, author of The Fabrica of Andreas Vesalius: a worldwide descriptive census, who will be discussing Vesalius and his work.
