Rebel Writers with Annie George

November 25 | 10:30 - 16:00

Dingwall Adults Workshop Scottish Writers

Rebel Writers will bring out your rebellious voice, something which incites change or opposition. Something to inspire or challenge conformity. Say something authentic and unheard before. Be brave. Rebel. This workshop will be led by playwright and writer Annie George - award-winning writer, theatremaker and occasional filmmaker, and the Inspiring Scotland 2016 Bursary recipient (Saltire Society and Scottish Book Trust). Annie wrote the critically acclaimed Twa (Edinburgh Fringe 2018); Home Is Not the Place (Fringe 2017); and The Bridge (Glasgow 2014 commission-Fringe 2014; Scottish tour and Nehru Centre London 2015). She directed I Knew A Man Called Livingstone, (Fringe, Scottish International Storytelling Festival, and Storymoja Hay Festival Nairobi 2013); and Nzinga: Warrior Queen (Fringe 2016) - both by Mara Menzies. Short films include: directing Real To Reel Award winner Curry and Irn-Bru; and Actor/Development Producer of Daddy's Girl, the Prix Spécial De Jury winner at Cannes. Delivered in partnership between Play Pieces Arts and Inverness Playwrights Group. The workshop includes a light lunch.
