Novel Rebels: COL's Favourite Literary Rebels

November 19 | 18:30 - 20:30

Edinburgh Adults Panel Event / Author Reading, Workshop Local Interest

Come and join members of our literature team as they discuss their favourite rebellious characters from literature. In partnership with Book Week Scotland and its theme Rebel, our literature tutors at the Centre for Open Learning will introduce their personal favourite literary rebels and explore the techniques and devices authors use to create such appealing rebels as Graham Greene's Aunt Augusta and Oscar Wilde's Algernon Moncrieff. There will be time for a group discussion and you will have the opportunity to suggest and discuss your own favourite rebellious character from literature. Together, we aim to create our very own COL Rebel Reading List. From characters behaving badly to subtle acts of dissent, come and join us for a very fun, lively and possibly rebellious evening!
