Join us for this informal author talk and enter the fascinating world of Helen Sedgwick, author, editor and former research physicist. Her debut, The Comet Seekers, was selected as one of the Best Books of 2016 by The Herald. Her second novel, The Growing Season, explores a world in which biotechnology has given women an alternative to pregnancy and childbirth. She won the Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award and is currently writing a crime trilogy, The Burrowhead Mysteries. Alongside writing, she works as a literary editor, was the managing director of Cargo Publishing and is the founding director of Wildland Literary Editors. Before writing her debut novel, she was a research scientist with a PhD in biophysics from Edinburgh University. Refreshments will be provided following the event.
