Collections Close-up: Renegades: The Rebel Lives of the Jacobites

November 20 | 12:00 - 14:00

Aberdeen All Ages Exhibition History

We are delighted to be hosting a special Book Week Scotland close-up of the University’s rare book, archive and museum collections, focused on some of the notorious figures of the Jacobite rebellions. On display will be rarely seen and internationally significant material from the University’s collection, including a first edition of Sir Walter Scott’s novel Waverley, a selection of 20th century Rob Roy comics, a Jacobite recruitment slip and songbook and a letter written by Bonnie Prince Charlie while in exile. To complement the display, we will also have on display a number of rare artefacts from the Universities Museum collections.
