Alistair McEwen - The Role of Animals in WW1

November 20 | 14:30 - 15:30

Longniddry Adults Exhibition History

Join Alistair McEwen from the charity Scotland's War (1914-1919) for an illustrated talk on the pivotal role of animals during WW1. Alistair and Professor Yvonne McEwen will answer questions after the talk. Many animals were employed to support British and Allied Forces in WW1. This talk pays tribute to the horses, mules, dogs, cats, birds, elephants and camels, bears, springboks, parrots and pigs that played a vital role in one of the world’s biggest conflicts.
